During 2020 and 2021 the United Kingdom was uprooted to a degree not seen since the Second World War. COVID-19’s wrath of despair upon not only the UK but the entire globe will be present for many years to come.
Having been photographed during the national lockdowns and with a title that echos the words from the late Queen Elizabeth II. We’ll Meet Again (2021) is a portraiture project that focus on the certainty of the mundane during the uncertainty caused by the pandemic. By beautifying the ordinary which is then emphasised through colour, these images document the isolated reality of 2020/21 society.
These images are photographed using an authentic 1981 Polaroid camera to create that ‘homemade’ aesthetic that became normalised during the era of lockdown.
